Saint Luke’s Place Celebrates Canada 150 With Our Community!

  • Saint Luke’s Place Celebrates Canada 150 With Our Community!

We welcomed the community to join our “Canada 150” Celebration.  The festivities began with representatives from the 822 Squadron Royal Canadian Air Cadets doing a formal march-on with the Canadian Flag followed by the community singing O Canada to mark the commencement of our celebration of Canada’s 150th Anniversary of Confederation.

Mayor Doug Craig welcomed everyone to our community celebration, and shared warm wishes from the City of Cambridge.

Hon. Kathryn McGarry, MPP, joined us as well to bring greetings from the Province of Ontario, and to announce two recipients of Seniors of the Month Recognition Awards at Saint Luke’s Place:  Patrick Baker, Residents’ Council President, and Norma Thomson, Residents’ Council Member.  Through their roles on Residents Council, both Patrick and Norma have been instrumental over the years in speaking on behalf of Long-Term Care Residents at Saint Luke’s Place.  Congratulations to Patrick and Norma for receiving this wonderful recognition from our Member of Provincial Parliament for their significant contributions to improving the lives of our seniors!

Such a truly amazing experience having residents, families, volunteers, friends and staff celebrating our country’s sesquicentennial anniversary together – a great sense of community!
