Planting Trees in Memory of Family and Friends
Saint Luke’s Place is committed to enhancing the serenity and beauty of its 7-acre park-like setting. This initiative is part of a dedicated effort to preserve and protect the natural environment for the enjoyment of residents, visitors, and the local community. Through the Saint Luke’s Place Tree Program, family members and friends have the opportunity to contribute to this vital cause while honoring their loved ones. Your generous donations will help create a lasting legacy in a peaceful setting for all to appreciate.
We will take care of everything, including planting the tree (you can select the type), adding a small sign and putting it in one of our parks.
The cost for a tree is $600, eligible for a $200 tax receipt.
- We consider each memorial tree individually, and we only plant trees in approved locations.
- Planting season typically happens in the fall, from late September to around December 1.
- If the tree dies, it will be replaced the following planting season.
You can choose a tree from this list, but it depends on what the nursery has available.
- Serviceberry (Amelanchier)
- Redbud (Cercis) – either tree or clump
- Red Maple (Acer rubrum)
- Blue Beech (Carpinus caroliniana)
- Tulip Trees
- Beeches
- Ginkgo
- Plane trees.
The plaque is usually black and measures 5 inches by 51/4 inches as shown in the image below. You can include a message; we recommend a character count of 250. We install the plaques and pedestals at the same time as the memorial tree.
