About Our Independent Apartments

Surrounded by mature trees, the Independent Living Apartments at Saint Luke’s Place are a popular and affordable housing choice for today’s senior.  There are a total of 132 apartments on site; “D Wing” contains 58 one-bedroom apartments while “C Wing” has a total of 74 units, a combination of bachelor and one and two-bedroom units.

As a tenant, you are also a member of the Seniors Active Living Centre Program (SALC), where you have access to amenities such as the lounges, library, general store, coffee shop, a variety of social and recreational activities and events, including summer BBQ’s, the hairdresser/ barbershop and the billiards room, all of which provide many opportunities to socialize with others in our community and enjoy some fun. For the outdoor enthusiast, we also have a covered outdoor patio and an accessible walking trail.

Although we have a waitlist, by submitting your application and deposit today, you reserve your place on the list.   This deposit is fully refundable at any time or may be applied to your first month’s rent when you move into an Independent Living Apartment at Saint Luke’s Place.  There are a few things that you can do that will increase your chances of getting called from the waitlist sooner:

  • If you indicate on your application that you are willing to consider an apartment in either apartment building (C-Wing or D-Wing), then this gives you more flexibility and opportunity to get called sooner;
  • If you indicate that you are willing to consider a choice of apartment types (i.e. one bedroom/bachelor or two-bedroom/one bedroom) then this also gives you more flexibility and opportunity to get called sooner;
  • Lastly, once you have submitted your application to us, please keep us updated about any changes to your contact information (cell/phone number, email address, or mailing address) or changes to your indicated choices on the application (examples: are you now open to an apartment in either building or would you now consider a Bachelor or One Bedroom apartment).

 We encourage you to contact us or stop by, for more information.

The Region of Waterloo subsidizes a small percentage of the apartments in order to ensure affordable accommodation for those in need.
