About

Saint Luke’s Place is a charitable, non-profit, and accredited long-term care facility and seniors’ community, founded from a heartfelt desire to support older adults in the Cambridge area.

Our story began in 1972 with the formation of a volunteer Board of Directors. We were officially incorporated under the Charitable Institutions Act in 1974, and by 1976, the first phase of our facility was complete—featuring 74 apartments and 80 long-term care beds. In the early 1980s, we expanded with 58 additional apartments, followed by 34 more long-term care beds and a retirement home in the late 1980s.

We proudly honour our roots as a visionary outreach project—created by the community, for the community. Today, Saint Luke’s Place is governed by an independent Board of Directors made up of skilled and dedicated volunteers. As a non-denominational organization, we celebrate diversity and warmly welcome everyone.

Over the years, our services have grown to include a vibrant Seniors Active Living Centre (formerly the Elderly Persons’ Centre), featuring a coffee shop, tuck shop, wellness centre with state-of-the-art fitness equipment, and a billiards room. Our home is nestled on nearly seven acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, complete with an accessible walking path that encircles the facility.

Saint Luke’s Place has earned a strong reputation for excellence in care and continues to enhance its programs and services to ensure the highest quality of life for those who live and work here.

Looking Ahead: Our Next Chapter 

As we look to the future, we do so with renewed energy and a clear vision—guided by a logo that has long symbolized who we are: home. It represents comfort, belonging, and community—everything Saint Luke’s Place stands for.

We are excited to share that we are expanding our long-term care facility to 192 beds, allowing us to serve even more seniors in our community with compassion and excellence.

Set in a beautiful park-like environment, our home reminds us that we are part of something greater. Our vision, mission, and values reflect our ongoing commitment to providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all those we are privileged to serve.
